Holiday Gift Guide

It seems ridiculously early to be writing a Holiday Gift Guide post, but I know some of you (Mom) like to get your holiday shopping out of the way nice and early, so I figured I'd better get this done.

Not sure what to buy for your favorite twin girls this holiday season? Here are a few ideas.
  • The twins' Amazon.com wish list is up to date. Please do not feel restricted to the items on the list. Get whatever you want for the girls. The list is just a collection of suggestions.

  • Books, books, books! We love new books.

  • Favorite toys these days include anything that encourages imaginative play -- tea sets, doll houses, kitchen sets, Tonka trucks, and the like would be perfect.

The girls are in a very sweet nurturing phase, which involves mothering all baby dolls and stuffed animals -- toys to encourage that would be welcome.

Puzzles, building sets, musical instruments, and arts & crafts are also in heavy rotation.

Look for toys that have an age range of 3 years and up.

Oompa.com is a great place to look for fun and unusual toys, and you can search by age range!

Ourgreenhouse.com also has a great selection of natural toys.

  • Even better than more toys to clutter up our living room would be the gift of fun activities. Consider giving the twins a gift certificate to The Old Town School of Folk Music, where they can take excellent music, dance, and art classes.

  • Clothing: The girls have plenty of cold-weather outerwear, but not too many warm outfits with long sleeves or sweaters. So some cozy winter clothes would be welcome.

The girls are wearing size 2T in most things. 2T shirts tend to fit just right, while 2T pants tend to fall right off them. But they're outgrowing their 18-month pants, so either 24-month or 2T is the way to go.

Shoe sizes change from company to company, but the twins' feet are 5-3/8" long, and I can tell you with certainty that Gymboree size 8 is too big. Hope that helps. (UPDATE: Size 7 in toddler shoe sizing seems to be just right.)

  • Don't forget our favorite charity this holiday season: Shriners Hospitals for Children do great work and deserve our financial support.
Now start shopping!

I was hoping to get them drum sets for your flat. Imagine twin drum sets in the corner of the living room. Click would probably learn how to play it in three weeks flat. He's very talented.
