Photo Shoot
The girls have proven themselves able photographers. I think they might have a future in photojournalism. Their ability to capture the essence of a moment is truly astounding.
Let me introduce their latest collaborative effort, in which the girls arranged their favorite stuffed animals in a variety of locations and then took turns posing with them. I think you'll agree that the results are stunning.
Sophie captures Evie in soft focus, blurring the lines between Evie and her animal companions. For are we not all animals? The looming shadow from the left heightens the tension in this frame, further highlighting our link to Nature, Red in Tooth and Claw.
Some postulate that Evie accidentally covered the flash with her finger in this striking portrait of Sophie; I disagree. In covering the flash, Evie gives this scene a strong sense of dystopia, inspiring a fight-or-flight reaction in sensitive viewers.
In this portrait, Sophie captures Evie surrounded by animals, much as we are all surrounded and entrapped by our very lives. As much as she might want to, Evie cannot escape from the hippos who need fresh band-aids and the kitten who longs to pounce on the unsuspecting.
Evie draws our attention to the true subject of this insightful work -- Puppy's eyes tell the tale. Haunted by the spectacles he's witnessed, Puppy is unable to close his eyes and shut out scenes of wanton and reckless behavior. Do not ask Puppy who colored on the windowsill! Don't make him reveal who first stole that contested toy! He will not say who suggested jumping on the beds or running with the scissors! He does not have the heart to tell you.

OMG, best blog post ever.
It looks to me like Puppy is saying "Stop CHOKING me!"
My personal favorite is, "Dystopia."
However, "Puppy" is running a close second. Always loyal, never the tattle-tale.
I LOVE IT!!!
I can't stop laughing.
I think Mom might have a future in art theory!
That was so fun!!
