Nature Walk

We had a delightful nature walk at Loyola Beach this afternoon. A section of the beach is fenced off as part of a re-vegetation experiment; my amateur researchers found much to study.

Information about the re-vegetation project.

"So much to explore! Where do we start?"

"Much to our dismay, Mommy prefers that we not examine the water too closely."

"These rocks taste sandy!"

The geologists-in-training find many fascinating specimens.

"What do you mean, we don't get to take the rocks home?!"

Intent in their search for treasures.

"Where can we stash these rocks so Mom won't find them?"

Stopping to smell the stinky flowers.

Ditto what I said on your blog.
The girls will be ready to go hiking with Grandma and Grandpa Cron next year. We know where all the best rocks are.

Don't you just love the Lake Michigan shoreline (I'm assuming that's where you were)? It's the best parts of an ocean (waves, white sand, water further than the eye can see), yet no salt!! And what is it with girls...such cute clothes and accessories! I seriously just can't stand it...too cute. Wanna trade? I'll take just one...not even asking for both! :) They look so peaceful and mild and ladylike in these pictures, but I've seen these two in action so I'm not so easily fooled. My guess is that there was plenty of running and squealing and goofing around involved...despite these tranquil pictures ;) I don't want summer to ever leave!!

Don't you know rocks are treasures found by their very own hands. I know they are your treasures.
