Tonight, as we were tucking the girls in and saying goodnight, Sophie spontaneously said, "Mommy, thank you for going to the beach with us today!" I nearly cried. Who expects such good manners from a not-quite-three-year-old?

Evie drew an "E" in the sand. "E for Evie!" she said.
Sophie has refined her sandcastle-building technique.
